GUWAHATI, Jan 1: Maharashtra Police have arrested as many as 16 Bangladeshi nationals from Mumbai and four other cities for illegally staying in the State, reports stated.
The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) with the help of local police arrested nine Bangladeshi nationals from Mumbai, Nashik, Nanded and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in the last four days, reports stated, taking the total number of arrests made in December itself to 43.
The arrested Bangladeshi nationals, which included a woman, had got Aadhar cards made using forged documents. Police said they have registered five cases against them under the Foreigners Act and other relevant legal provisions.
On the other hand, seven Bangladeshi nationals, who were working without valid documents at a godown in Thane, were held by police besides seizing mobile phones and cash from them.
