Guwahati: Responding to the desperate appeal of a Guwahati girl who tested COVID-19 positive in Mumbai, Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma talked to Maharashtra minister Aditya Thackeray for proper care and treatment.

Follwing Dr. Sarma’s request, the Maharashtra health department has made adequate arrangements for the girl named Daijee Saikia who is a nurse by profession.

Daijee, a resident of Guwahati was working at P.D. Hinduja Hospital in Maharashtra.

Through a Facebook live video Daijee claimed that she is COVID-19 positive and has not received proper care and treatment in Mumbai. She requested the Assam Government for help at the appalling situation.

The Assamese nurse claimed she along with other positive nurses have been kept in the quarantine centre which has no clean environment.
She claimed that the PD Hinduja Hospital authority has also not taken her responsibility.

Daijee took her facebook profile address the problems she is facing in Mumbai. She went live from her social media account to share her ordeal.

Daijee also added that she was there with 2,000 other people without proper treatment, medicine and food and has not consumed anything since Saturday.
“We have not been provided with any medicine. A total of 50 nurses have tested positive. But the government has not taken care of us,” Daijee further said in the Facebook Live stream.

She raised a serious allegation that they have been given bed sheets used by positive patients who stayed earlier in the centre.

“In such an environment there are scopes of more transmission of the virus. The bathrooms are dirty, no sanitizers. There are no proper facilities here. I am tired. How many people will have to be approached? I am tired of telling since yesterday,” Daijee added.
