At least 10 people travelling in a bus on Maharashtra’s Nashik-Shirdi highway died on Friday morning after the vehicle met with an accident. The bus was travelling from Mumbai to Shirdi. The mishap took place near Vavi Pathare village on the highway.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased. After speaking to officials, he also directed authorities to immediately shift the injured passengers to hospitals in Shirdi and Nashik and provide them with proper treatment.
Shinde has ordered an inquiry to ascertain how the incident took place.
