GUWAHATI, Feb 21: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, accompanied by his better half Riniki Bhuyan Sharma and children Nandil and Sukanya, took the holy dip at Triveni Sangam today on the occasion of Maha Kumbh 2025.
News agency PTI tweeted a video in which the Assam Chief Minister and his family members were seen taking the holy dip at the river Ganga at Triveni Sangam.
“”I am fortunate to get the chance to take holy dip in Triveni Sangam, along with my family. I bow down to the almighty for this chance. At least 60 crore people have already come to take holy dip here so far… It is a huge event and I thank the UP CM Yogi Adityanath for organising this event successfully. I thank PM Modi too under whose leadership this entire event enabled so many people to take part in Maha Kumbh,” PTI quoted him as saying after he took the holy bath.
Chief Minister Dr Sarma also posted an image on his social media accounts after taking the holy dip in which he wrote:
“तीर्थराज प्रयागराज में परिवार सहित त्रिवेणी संगम स्नान करने का अपार सौभाग्य प्राप्त हुआ।
जब तक सूरज-चांद रहेगा, तब तक सनातन धर्म रहेगा।
हर हर महादेव 🔱”
