GUWAHATI: All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA Aminul Islam has termed Lurinjyoti Gogoi-led Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) as the ‘B team’ of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“Lurinjyoti Gogoi is BJP’s B team. Since AJP and Raijor Dal are against the CAA. We have been requesting them to join the grand alliance. But they are not joining as they want to divide anti-CAA votes,” the Dhing MLA alleged.
He also alleged that under the leadership of Lurinjyoti Gogoi, the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) made lakh of fake objections against the inclusion of religious minorities in the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
“After the publication of second draft of the NRC, AASU led bt Lurinjyoti Gogoi filed 3-4 lakh objections over night. The objections were baseless,” Islam said.
