An FIR has been lodged against Lucknow University professor Dr Madri Kakoti, also known in social media as Dr Medusa, for her “seditious” social media posts in the wake of the grisly Pahalgam killings.
Amid the tragedy and the loss of lives of 26 people, including 25 Hindu tourists, Dr Kakoti, who hails from Nagaon in Assam, also posted a video on her social media handle which goes by the name of Dr Medusa, and criticised the Government for the killings besides also posting content, the complainant — an ABVP member named Jatin Shukla — stated in his FIR were hampering the national integrity and law and order in India.
The complainant also claimed that she repeatedly used the word “saffron terror” in her bid to incite riots in the nation.
“Twenty-seven ordinary Indians, people like you and me, were killed. The media was busy chasing TRPs, and no serious questions were asked of those in power. A major case in internal security went unnoticed, and the home minister remained clueless,” her post read.
Her video has gone viral not in India but also in Pakistan.

Reports, meanwhile, said that Lucknow University issued Dr Kakoti a show-cause notice, seeking a written explanation from her within five days.
