Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a mega election rally in Nalbari, Assam today where he will be campaigning for NDA candidate Phani Bhushan Choudhury from the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).
PM Modi will address the huge rally at Govt Gurdon HS School playground, Nalbari at 12 PM to campaign for AGP candidate from Barpeta constituency Phani Bhushan Choudhury.
PM Modi arrived in Guwahati, Assam on Tuesday evening and was welcomed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport.
Thousands of people lined up on both sides of the arterial Guwahati-Shillong Road for the roadshow that started from a point near the headquarters of the State Congress party.
People followed the Prime Minister waving the BJP’s flag as he waved at the crowd, standing on the running board of his vehicle.
The Prime Minister did spend the night at a VVIP guest house in Guwahati and will take part in a rally for Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) candidate Phani Bhushan Choudhury, who is contesting the Barpeta Lok Sabha seat. The AGP is an ally of the BJP in Assam.
PM Modi’s next stop will be Tripura’s capital Agartala, where he is scheduled to address a rally for former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, the BJP candidate from the Tripura West Parliamentary seat.
Polling for the 14 seats in Assam will be conducted in three phases: April 19, April 26, and May 7. The nationwide elections for 543 Lok Sabha seats will span seven phases, commencing on April 19, with nearly 96.8 crore eligible voters across over 12 lakh polling stations. Vote counting is scheduled for June 4.
