Golaghat: Olympic Boxing bronze medal winner Lovlina Borgohain has finally reached her home town of Golaghat. The boxing icon from Assam received a grand welcome with thousands thronging to Barpathar Playground to get a glimpse of the star pugilist. Lovlina is coming back home after one year.
Post Olympic-win, Lovlina had arrived in Assam on 12 August from Tokyo and immediately after the state felicitation programme travelled back to New Delhi. On 15 August she had an interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with other members of the Indian Olympic contingent in New Delhi.
Today, she boarded a flight from New Delhi to Dimapur. At the airport a large number of fans welcomed her. From Dimapur, a convoy of vehicles and motorcycles led Lovlina Borgohain to the playground where a grand reception has been organised to celebrate her victory at the Tokyo Olympics.
