GUWAHATI, Feb 13: British popstar Ed Sheeran enthralled a capacity crowd at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong on Wednesday night, as he told his fans who came braving the cold and the chill to hear the acclaimed singer that they were “the loudest and most enthusiastic audience so far”.
The global pop sensation’s performance in the Meghalaya capital was the fifth concert of his ‘+ – = ÷ x’ India tour.
Ed Sheeran took to the stage donning a T-shirt with ‘Shillong’ inscribed in it as he belted one hit number after another, prompting his fans to sing aloud with him.
“Another epic concert at Shillong by British Artist and Grammy-winning British Singer/Songwriter Ed Sheeran.
Shillong is emerging as India’s favourite concert destination, contributing to India’s growing concert economy as emphasized by Hon’ble PM @narendramodi,” wrote Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on social media.
The 33-year-old British singer’s performance in the Meghalaya capital was the penultimate concert of his six-city India tour which will culminate in Delhi on Saturday (Feb 15).
