GUWAHATI: The London Fashion Week (LFW) got a taste of the elegance of Assamese ‘Mekhela Chador’ including various other traditional Indian attires from different parts of India.
The Indian High Commission organized the ‘India Day’ celebration at the London Fashion Week. The event took place at Victoria House on 15th February.
Models walked the ramp donning Mekhela Chador (Assam), Baluchari (West Bengal), Kashmiri, Kasavu (Kerala), Chikan Sarees (Lucknow), Chanderi (Madhya Pradesh), Sambalpuri sarees (Odisha) and other traditional dresses of India.
The designers were hand-picked from the Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD), India and were supported by the London School of Trends.
