Campaigning for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections to be held on Thursday (April 11) ended at 4 pm today (April 9). Voting will be held in 91 seats — including five in Assam — spread across 20 States and Union Territories.
The last day of campaigning in the five constituencies in Assam (Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kaliabor, Tezpur and Lakhimpur) that will go to polls on Thursday witnessed hectic political activity with the candidates and other star campaigners going full throttle seeking the support of the voters in the hustings.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, NEDA convener and Assam Finance, Health and PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other leaders campaigned for party candidates.

On the other hand, Congress president Rahul Gandhi also addressed in Barak Valley.
