Indian National Congress (INC)’s candidate Rakibul Hussain has won from Assam’s Dhubri seat.
Rakibul Hussain, who was up against AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal, won by a huge margin of 10,12,476 votes.
According to the Election Commission of India (ECI) website, Rakibul Hussain received a total of 14,71,885 votes. While AIUDF’s Badruddin Ajmal secured only 4,59,409 votes.
Rakibul Hussain replaced the sitting AIUDF MP Badruddin Ajmal.
Ajmal had won from the constituency three times since 2009.
