Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday commenced his day with fervent political activities, rallying alongside BJP candidate Parimal Shuklabaidya in Silchar.
The rally proceeded to the office of the Deputy Commissioner to formally submit Parimal Suklabaidya’s nomination.
He was joined by party leadership including incumbent MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy.
Addressing the press thereafter, CM Sarma exuded confidence in the BJP candidate’s victory, projecting a record margin. He pledged his return to Silchar ahead of the elections to intensify campaigning for Shuklabaidya.
Subsequently, Sarma addressed a sizable gathering at the Police Parade Ground before embarking on a rally in Karimganj with Kripanath Malla.
Expressing unwavering support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sarma affirmed, “The people of Silchar resonate with Modi’s vision of development, and their votes will reflect this sentiment.” He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to disseminating Modi’s message door-to-door, even to the residence of Trinamool Congress leader and former MP Sushmita Dev.
In a characteristic jab at the opposition, Sarma remarked on the dwindling presence of the Congress party. “Bhupen Bora’s rhetoric is futile. Congress is witnessing an exodus to BJP, while others grapple with their diminishing relevance,” Sarma quipped.
The Chief Minister’s energetic campaigning underscores the BJP’s determination to secure a resounding victory in the upcoming elections.
