A voter turnout of 15.5 per cent was recorded during the first three hours in the five Lok Sabha seats in Assam where elections were underway in the second phase on Friday.
Silchar recorded a turnout of 12.11%, followed by 14.87% in Karimganj, 15.27% in Nagaon, 19.5% in Diphu and12.31% in Daran-Udalguri respectively.
The polling, which began at 7 am, would continue till 5 pm.
A total of 77,09,276 voters will decide the fate of 61 candidates in these five seats.
Voting is underway in 9,133 polling stations.
