Lockdown in Assam: Police acts tough against violators

PUBLISHED:

GUWAHATi: Assam Police has taken stringent action against those who had violated lockdown rules. Police acted tough against the violators who ventured out to the streets or keep shops and business establishments (which are not exempted from lockdown) open in different parts of the state defying the preventive measures against Coronavirus.

Police had to beat-up the violators at Jorhat, Kaziranga, Moran, Morigaon, Borjhar and other parts of the state for not following lockdown rules. Bajali Police on Tuesday resorted to lathi charge to disperse people from the streets.

On the other hand, a large number of people came out of their homes today in Dhemaji to bring cooking gas cylinders. The deaf hearing of the people to prime minister Narendra Modi’s call to maintain ‘Social Distance’ in the wake of Coronavirus outbreak has emerged as a matter of grave concerns.
