GUWAHATI: There are several new releases on OTT platforms during this festive season.  Here’s a list of films and series on Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney+Hotstar, Zee5 that you can catch up during this festivity.

The highly-anticipated Mirzapur 2 began streaming on Amazon Prime Video from October 23. Pankaj Tripathi plays Kaleen Bhaiya and Ali Fazal plays Guddu Pandit in the show. The thirst for power and revenge continues in season 2 as Guddu prepares to take over the throne of Mirzapur from Kaleen Bhaiya and his son, Munna (Divyendu Sharmaa). Borat Subsequent Moviefilm is a follow-up to the 2006 comedy film Borat, which featured a fictional Kazakh TV journalist called Borat. The film chronicles his experiences during his maiden trip to the US. Directed by Jason Woliner, the new film features Sacha Baron Cohen and Irina Nowak in the lead roles. This time Borat returns to the US with his daughter and risks his life. The film boasts its own kind of humour, which is not liked by many. But if you are one of those who loves this kind of humour, you cannot miss Borat Subsequent Moviefilm. It was released on Amazon Prime Video on October 23.

A Suitable Boy is Mira Nair’s TV adaptation of Vikram Seth’s novel A Suitable Boy which released on Netflix on October 23. Ishaan Khatter, Tabu, Tanya Maniktala and Rasika Dugal will be seen in pivotal roles. The six episode series is set in the backdrop of newly independent India (1951). A Suitable Boy aired BBC earlier this year.

What to watch: Unsolved Mysteries Volume 2

If you are a fan of whodunit, then Netflix’s new show Unsolved Mysteries Volume 2 should be your go to this weekend. Unsolved Mysteries is the revival of the 1987 American show which finished in 2010. The six episode series include chilling mysteries that are still not solved. From murder mysteries to encounters with spirits, this volume of Unsolved Mysteries touches on some chilling real life stories. The series released on October 23.

What to watch: The Queen’s Gambit
You will like it if you liked: A Beautiful Mind

The Queen’s Gambit should be on your list if you are looking for some inspiration this weekend. The mini-series is set in the era of Cold War and features as the protagonist Anya Taylor-Joy (a chess prodigy). The Queen’s Gambit is an adaptation of Walter Tevis’ riveting novel with the same title. The series released on october 23.

What to watch: Over the Moon

Over the Moon is an animated film which revolves around a young girl who builds a rocket ship to reach moon so that she can prove the existence of moon goddess. The film is directed by Oscar Winning Filmmaker & Animator, Glen Keane.

What to watch: Comedy Couple
You will like it if you liked: What Are The Odds

Saqib Saleem and Shweta Basu Prasad play the lead roles in this film that traces the journey of a relationship of a couple as they present their stand-up comedy acts together. While on the stage, they are extremely fun during their gigs, the story is quite different off-stage. The film began streaming on October 21 and is directed by Nachiket Samant. What to watch: Once Upon a Snowman
You will like it if you liked: Frozen films

If you are among those people who are in love with Frozen films, then you have news to cheer you up. Everyone’s favourite character from Frozen, Olaf, is coming up with his own short film. Once Upon a Snowman is about Olaf in an adventure to find his own identity. Obviously, you will see many characters from the Frozen film. This film follows Olaf’s first steps as he comes to life and searches for his identity in the snowy mountains outside Arendelle. It was released on Disney+Hotstar on October 23.
