The accident had taken place on March 12 when the four MBA students were travelling from Jorhat end towards the university. The vehicle was reportedly over-speeding and was being driven in in excess of 100 kmph when it hit the road divider before being tossed up into the air and then fell into the service road in the direction of Jorhat, eyewitnesses had recounted, saying Mustafa Mujahid, Md. Afif Irfan Hussain and Orina were flung out of the car following the impact of the mishap.

“The car was coming from Jorhat end and was being driven at great speed. It hit the road divider and was then tossed up into the air before falling into the service road in the direction of Jorhat,” an eyewitness told News Live a day after the accident.

“The impact of the crash was so huge that three of the occupants were flung out of the car while only one occupant was found inside the car after the mishap,” he further said.

Another eyewitness who transported the injured students to the hospital said while one of the two male students died on the spot, the second student died on the way to hospital.
