GUWAHATI, Jan 22: At least 10 people were killed while 20 more injured after a fruit truck lost control and hit another vehicle in Karnataka’s Uttar Kannada district today morning (January 22) before overturning.
The incident took place around 4:00 am at Yalapura Highway near Gulapura village, reports stated.
The truck overturned and reportedly fell into a 50-metre deep forested area after hitting the second vehicle.
There were around 50 people in the truck with reports stating that all of them were fruit vendors.
“Ten persons were killed on the spot while 20 more were critically injured and have been shifted to KIMS Hospital in Hubballi,” a police officer stated.
The death toll could increase considering the critical nature of injuries of the wounded people.
