A total of sixteen people have been arrested so far in connection with the Karbi Anglong mob violence, which killed two youths from Guwahati. The residents of Dokmoka in Karbi Anglong lynched two Guwahati boys Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet Das to death because they suspected the boys of being the child kidnappers.
The arrested were identified as Biju Basumatary (25), Biswaram Swargiary (22), Dhona Mech (25), Dhono Mech (45), Dipjyoti Basumatary (26), Horukon Swargiary (20), Pantheng Basumatary (30), Ram Swargiary (21), Umesh Khaklary (26), Babu Rongpi alias Basu Rongpi (20), Anos Timung (49), Sanjay Terang (19), Bidyasing Rongpi (18), Anand Rongpi (19), Raju Bey (19) and Bhupendra Terang alias Edwinson Terang (18).
It should be mentioned that, the duo has been beaten dragged and violently thrashed. Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal orders high-level enquiry into the case.
