Kamal Nath to take oath as MP CM on Dec 17

PUBLISHED:

Veteran Congress leader Kamal Nath, a nine-term Chhindwara MP, will become the next Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh at the Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal on Monday (Dec 17). The 72-year-old Gandhi family loyalist was earlier on Thursday night chosen by the party high command for the chief minister’s post.

Incidentally, Kamal Nath was already being tipped to pip Jyotiraditya Scindia and the duo met Congress president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi yesterday evening following which his name was announced for the chief minister’s post.

Incidentally, Rahul Gandhi had hinted at Kamal Nath becoming the next chief minister in a tweet a couple of hours before the official announcement was made.

“The two most powerful warriors are patience and time,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted quoting Leo Tolstoy along with a photograph with the two CM aspirants.

However, the party is yet to announce who wins the race for the chief minister in Rajasthan despite multiple meetings between the Congress president and Sachin Pilot, the party in-charge of Rajasthan, and former chief minister Ashok Gehlot.
