But my teachers rang up my mother to inform her that I have topped the HSLC examinations. It’s a great feeling,” Amishi Saikia told News Live after the declaration of results.
“I did not even dream that I will be among the top-ten rank holders. My entire focus was to do well in the examinations,” she further said.
“I want to become a good person. That’s my main aim,” Amishi, who father Dr Manas Saikia is a well-known physician of Jorhat, added.
She also praised the hard work and dedication of the faculty members of Pragya Academy while also claiming that her other classmates have also done very well in the examination, with most of them securing in excess of 90% marks.
“We are very happy with her results. We did not expect her to top the examination considering that the government is slowly phasing out the system of awarding positions but me and my wife were confident that she would do very good,” Amishi’s father Dr Manash Saikia told News Live.
