In a joint operation, Army and Police killed four terrorists in Kala Jungle of Machhal sector in Kupwara on 23 June who were trying to infiltrate to our side from Pak-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), Jammu and Kashmir police informed.
“Four #terrorists have been neutralised in Kala Jungle of Machhal sector in #Kupwara during a joint operation by the Army and Police. They were making an infiltration attempt from POJK,” stated the Jammu and Kashmir police in a tweet.
Further details are awaited regarding the operation.
In a separate incident on 22 June, the Anantnag Police apprehended two terrorists associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and seized arms and ammunition in the Bijbhera area of Jammu and Kashmir. The recovered items included ₹1 lakh, 12 AK-47 rounds, and one grenade. The Anantnag Police have registered a case at the Bijbehara police station in connection with the incident.
On June 16, the joint security forces conducted a significant operation near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Jumagund area of Jammu and Kashmir, eliminating five highly trained foreign terrorists belonging to the JK Ghaznavi Force (JKGF). These terrorists, experienced in guerilla warfare in the Afghan-Pakistan region, were attempting to infiltrate into Indian territory in the Jumagund area of the Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir, late Thursday night.
Previously, on June 13, two terrorists were eliminated in a joint operation conducted by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Dobanar Machhal area (LoC) of Kupwara district.
