Jawan trailer out: SRK hijacks trains, fights for the country and appears in multiple avatars

PUBLISHED:

Finally, the much-awaited trailer of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan is out, and fans are going crazy to see King Khan in a never-seen-before avatar.

The video shared by the cast and crew gives the best look yet at the action film, which marks the first collaboration between Shah Rukh and Nayanthara. The film, which has been directed by filmmaker Atlee Kumar, is Shah Rukh’s second release of the year after the blockbuster hit Pathaan, which was released in January.

Jawan features Shah Rukh Khan in a variety of avatars, and combines elements of vigilante thrillers and masala entertainers.

The trailer makes Jawan seem like a massy and so what called a power packed masala film, with a genre-hopping tone that can be dramatic in one moment, and gruesomely violent in the next.

The film also appears to be taking place in multiple timelines, with Shah Rukh appearing as a soldier in one plotline, and a vigilante who inspires the public’s support in another. Nayanthara plays a cop tasked with tracking down the vigilante, but she also plays the romantic interest of a different version of the central character. Or is Shah Rukh playing dual roles?

Deepika Padukone appears briefly, and all signs point to her character dying. Vijay Sethupathi shows up as the villain, again across different timelines, and describes himself as the fourth-biggest arms dealer in the world.

Alongside Shah Rukh and Nayanthara, Jawan features Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Ridhi Dogra and Sunil Grover, among others. Directed by Atlee and produced by Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan also features Deepika Padukone’s cameo appearance.

Jawan releases in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages on September 7, 2023. Advance bookings for the film in various parts of the world promise a huge opening for the Shah Rukh Khan film.
