3 Lashkar terrorists killed in encounter with security forces in Sophian, Jammu & Kashmir: At least three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists have been killed in an encounter with security forces in Zinpather Keller area of Shopian in Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday, reports said.

One of the three terrorists killed in the fierce gunbattle has been identified as Shahid, who is said to be a local resident.

Security forces had reportedly intercepted the movement of four terrorists following intelligence reports of their presence in Sophian.

A gunbattle broke out which is said to be still underway.

Security forces, meanwhile, had put up posters titled ‘Terror Free Kashmir’ of three Pakistan-backed terrorists — Adil Hussain Thoker, Ali Bhai and Hashim Musa — believed to be behind the dastardly April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Along with the posters, a reward of Rs 20 lakh has also been announced to anyone providing credible information about the three terrorists and their present whereabouts.

Incidentally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on Monday warned Pakistan in his first address to the nation after Operation Sindoor saying that terror and talks and terror and trade cannot go together and that any discussion with Islamabad will be on the core issues of terrorism and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

He also sent out a strong message and warned Pakistan that the cessation of hostilities agreed upon was temporary and that India would avenge and retaliate any terrorist strike or military action originating from the neighbouring country.

Prime Minister Modi further stated that India will also not tolerate any nuclear blackmail and that our armed forces will strike precisely and decisively at the terrorist hideouts developing under the cover of nuclear blackmail.
