It’s Shaadi season again! 38 lakh wedding schedule for next 23 days

The great Indian Shadi season is back! The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) is expecting businesses to earn ₹4.74 lakh crore of 38 lakh marriages this wedding season, which is the highest ever.

The weddings are scheduled between November 23 and December 15, 2023.

Acharya Durgesh Tare, the Chairman of CAIT’s Spiritual and Vedic Knowledge Committee said, “November 23, 24, 27, 28, and 29 are auspicious dates for solemnising marriages, followed by December 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 15. The next phase of the wedding season will begin mid-January of 2024 and go on till July of that year.”

There will be an estimated expenditure of Rs 3 lakh per marriage in about 6 lakh marriages in this wedding season.

For about 10 lakh marriages, the expenditure will be around Rs 6 lakh to Rs 12 lakh per marriage. Weddings will cost around Rs 10 lakh per wedding.

In 6 lakh marriages, Rs 25 lakh will be spent per marriage. In 50 thousand marriages, Rs 50 lakh will be spent per marriage. There will be 50 thousand marriages in which money worth Rs 1 crore or more will be spent. Overall, in one month there will be an inflow of around Rs 4.25 lakh crore from wedding purchases in the markets during the wedding season.

The next phase of the wedding season will start from mid-January and will continue till July. In view of the good business prospects in the wedding season, businessmen across the country have made extensive preparations. In view of the possible rush of customers, traders are keeping all their arrangements in order.

Apart from this, there will be high rise in business of jewellery, sarees, lehenga-chuni, furniture and readymade clothes etc.

Footwear, wedding greeting cards, dry fruits, sweets, fruits, puja items, grocery, food grains, decorative items, home decor items, electrical utilities, electronics and many gift items etc. are generally in demand during the wedding season.
