GUWAHATI: Inter-district travel in Assam will be allowed on Mondays and Tuesdays every week, announced Assam Finance, Health and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati today.
This rule to allow inter-district movement of people will be applicable initially till Aug 15 and could likely be extended.
“Inter-district travel is permitted every Monday and Tuesday till Aug 15,” Sarma said, adding that night curfew, that has been done away with by the Union Home Ministry in its ‘Unlock 3’ guidelines, will however continue to be applicable in Assam.
He also announced that gyms and saloons can open as per existing guidelines meaning that all shops on the right and left sides of a street to remain open on alternate days.
Weekend lockdown will continue to remain in place across the State till Aug 15, he further announced.
