GUWAHATI: The Assam government has decided to put a ban on inter-district movement from Friday, said Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Talking to reporters, CM Sarma said “A notification regarding the ban has already been published.”
Assam on Sunday recorded 3659 new COVID-19 cases out of the total 42,884 tests done in the State. The positivity rate for the day was 8.51percent. Out of the new cases, 1197 cases are from the Kamrup Metropolitan district.
On the other hand, 56 persons succumbed to the infection on Sunday.
