GUWAHATI, Oct 31: Darrang Police have been caught in the eye of a controversy after cops were seen dragging the bodies of a father-daughter duo killed in a tragic road accident.

Mathura Nath Deka and his daughter Nandita were returning from Gauhati University in a two-wheeler when they were hit by a speeding truck bearing registration AS 27 C 6588 at Sattola near Mangaldai town yesterday evening.

Both of them died on the spot.

Mathura Nath Deka was bringing his daughter Nandita home after hostels were closed for Diwali when the accident occurred.

However, a team of policemen, when informed about the accident and the loss of lives, arrived and was seen dragging the bodies on the road after wrapping them in polythene sheets.

Questions are being asked as to why cops were least sensitive while transporting the bodies.
