Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s health remained unchanged as he continues to be on life support at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after his condition deteriorated sharply since the past 24 hours.
The former PM was admitted to AIIMS on June 11 with kidney tract infection and chest congestion and was later put on ventilator support after his health deteriorated.
After a medical bulletin on the former PM’s health stated “his condition has worsened over the last 24 hours” and “his condition is critical and he is on life support”, hospital authorities claimed today (Aug 16) that there has been no improvement in his health.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited AIIMS yesterday evening (Aug 15) to inquire about Vajpayee’s health, paid another visit to the hospital as there was no improvement in his health. Many politicians — from the BJP as well as Opposition parties — visited AIIMS to inquire about the health of the former Prime Minister.
