India is mourning the passing away of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and are paying their last tributes to the departed soul in whatever way they can. The mortal remains of the former Prime Minister, who was one of the country’s tallest statesmen besides being an orator and poet, were brought to the BJP headquarters from his residence this morning where lakhs of people, including political leaders and people from other walks of life, are offering their last respects.
Thousands of people joined the procession as the mortal remains were brought to the BJP headquarters in a garlanded army truck.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, other central ministers, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with other party leaders along with thousands of his people who loved their ‘Atalji’ paid their respects and last tributes.

His last journey from the BJP headquarters to the Rashtriya Smriti Sthal in Delhi is expected to begin around 1:30 pm while the last rites will be performed at 4 pm.
Several foreign leaders are will also attend the last rites of the former Prime Minister.
