India and more than a billion Indians celebrated the 72nd Independence Day today with patriotic fervour as thousands joined the celebrations that were peaceful despite terror threat and boycott calls made by militant outfits in the Northeast. While some people celebrated the national festival attending government events at parade grounds, others planned special programmes to mark the occasion.
And the social media was buzzing with activity as people shared their celebrations and experiences on various platforms.
