GUWAHATI, Feb 14: The trophy of the Indian Premier League (IPL) arrived in Guwahati as part of the first-of-its-kind nine-city Trophy Tour ahead of the 2025 edition of the cash-rich tournament.
After the trophy’s arrival in Guwahati along with a team from last year’s winning franchisee Kolkata Knight Riders, it was taken to the Kamakhya Temple by the KKR staff.
The trophy then made its way to the News Live’s headquarters at Christian Basti much to the delight of the entire team of journalists and members of the administrative staff.
Journalists flocked to the news desk of the channel to have a glimpse of the coveted trophy and to also take a selfie with the cup to make the occasion a one-in-a-lifetime experience.
The IPL trophy was also taken to a few other media houses and will be kept at the City Centre mall for display for fans and supporters this evening.
Besides Guwahati, the IPL trophy will tour Bhubaneswar, Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Gangtok, Siliguri, Patna, Durgapur before arriving in Kolkata by March 16.
Through this initiative, KKR aims to create a memorable experience for fans who have supported the franchise throughout the years.
