GUWAHATI, Oct 11: In a daring Bollywood movie-like jailbreak, five under-trial prisoners escaped from Morigaon District Jail late last night sending prison authorities into a tizzy.
The prisoners escaped the prison by first breaking the rods of the barracks and then crossed the 50-foot jail wall with the help of blankets, lungis and bed sheets.
The prisoners escaping the prison are Saifuddin, Ziarul Islam, Nur Islam, Mafidul and Abdul Rashid and were booked under the POSCO Act.
Morigaon Police, meanwhile, have intensified operations to nab the on-the-run under-trial prisoners.
