India began the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 with a six-wicket victory over South Africa in Southampton with Rohit Sharma slamming his 23rd one-day century, his second in world cup.
The Indian vice-captain remained unbeaten on 122 as the Men In Blue chased down the target of 228 set by the Proteas with 15 balls to spare.

South Africa had scored 227 for nine in 50 overs after Faf du Plesis won the toss and elected to bat first.
This is South Africa’s third straight defeat in the tournament.
India will now face defending champions Australia on June 9 (Sunday)
