Guwahati: The ICC on Friday announced the schedule for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 and India will be facing Pakistan in their first match of the tournament on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
As per the schedule, the Men in Blue will lock horns against Pakistan in their first match of the tournament which will be played on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Australia will begin the defence of their T20 World Cup title against New Zealand in Sydney on Oct. 22 in a re-run of last year’s final. The Australians will be hosting the tournament, which begins on Oct. 16 and runs until Nov. 13, for the first time.

The hosts have been drawn in Group 1 of the Super 12 phase of the competition alongside New Zealand, who they defeated in Dubai in November, as well as England, Afghanistan, the winners of Group A and runners-up in Group B from the first round.
Group 1: Australia, New Zealand, England, Afghanistan, A1, B2
Group 2: India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, B1, A2
The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be commenced from October 16-November 13 and it will be played across seven venues — Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Geelong, Hobart, and Perth.
