A transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) with 13 people on board has gone missing after taking off from the Jorhat airbase Monday afternoon. The AN-32 aircraft that was headed for Menchuka air field in Arunachal Pradesh had taken off from the Jorhat airbase at 12:25 pm and last contacted ground at 1 pm today.
The Indian Air Force has already launched a search operation with Sukhoi-30 and C-130 Special Ops aircrafts to locate the missing IAF aircraft.

IAF’s ‘overdue action’ – the Air Force’s nomenclature to locate a ‘missing plane’ — was launched as the aircraft did not reach the airfield on time.
Reports said eight out of the 13 passengers travelling in the aircraft were crew members while the remaining five were passengers.
