Human traffickers arrested, 2 minor girls rescued in Gohpur


Guwahati: The Assam Police on Thursday arrested one man and two women involved in trafficking minor girls outside the state.

The police also rescued two minors from them.  

The accused has been identified as Jalaluddin, Mariani Begum and Tiri Narjari.

The minors were brought from Lakhimpur to sell them outside the state.

According to the police the two minor girls were taken to Arunachal Pradesh on the pretext of providing them with employment.

The gang was arrested in Gohpur where the gang halted for a while.

The local people suspected the gang and informed the Gohpur Police.

Acting on the information the police reached the spot and arrested the three accused and rescued the two minor girls.

The police also recovered a vehicle from the culprits.
