Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday inaugurated the Cardiothoracic & Neurosciences (CN Centre) under the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The plan for the center was announced by then Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma back in 2008, and the foundation stone was laid the same year.
The advanced centre will now cater to the needs of people with heart disease, stroke, brain tumors, with departments like Cardiology, CTVS, Neurology, & Neurosurgery.
The centre comes in all in one package facilities like 24×7 functional CathLabs and Pacemaker implantation facilities, dedicated ICUs, Pre-& post-Operative Wards, 7 Modular Operation Theatres, High-End Operative Endoscopy, and Neuro Navigation System, Sophisticated heart Lung Machine, 3 Tesla MRI, 256 Slice CT Machine, High-End Neurophysiological investigations, fully automated dry Chemistry, and Hormone Analyzer and WIFI-enable smart building.
The hospital will be operational for patients from Tuesday i.e, May 10.
