GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati after it resumed full-fledged operations on Saturday . Quarantine of most of the doctors and staff ended on Saturday. Several doctors and staff were put under quarantine after a post-graduate student from GMCH tested COVID-19 positive.
Taking to Twitter minister Sarma wrote, “GMCH resumed full-fledged operations today. Also quarantine of most of the doctors & staff ended today.
To express our gratitude to doctors & staff for their yeoman service, I visited the hospital.
All patients shall now have seamless access to #GMCH now.”
Dr. Sarma was accompanied by minister of state for health and family welfare Pijush Hazarika.
