GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital, Barpeta on Tuesday. Dr. Sarma held a discussion with the deputy commissioner (DC), superintendent of police (SP), principal of the medical college and the doctors.
Minister Sarma discussed the operation of a regional screening centre and augmenting output in COVID-19 testing and patient care. He reviewed all the arrangements and preparations at the medical college to deal with COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, Dr. Sarma visited the family of Amullya Kalita, a Rangia resident who had died due to COVID-19 on Monday night at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Sarma met the bereaved family at their Rangia residence and offered his condolences.
