GUWAHATI: The Assam unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been intensifying campaign for Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections which will take place from December 7 to December 10.
North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor and Assam cabinet minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday took part in a mega bike rally in Baksa district under Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The rally started from Bornadi via Tamulpur and ended at Kumarikata.
He was accompanied by Assam BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass and BJP national general secretary Dilip Saikia.
The first phase of BTC elections for Udalguri and Baksa district will be held on December 7 (7:30 AM to 4:30 PM) and the second phase for Kokrajhar and Chirang district will be held on December 10 (7:30 AM to 4:30 PM).
The counting of votes has been slated for December 12 from 8:00 AM.
