Himanta Biswa Sarma takes part in bicycle rally at Kamalpur

GUWAHATI: North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor and Assam cabinet minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took part in a massive bicycle rally at Kamalpur in the Kamrup district on Friday.

The rally also witnessed participation of BJP national general secretary Dilip Saikia, minister Bhabesh Kalita along with a large number of party workers and local people.

The enthusiastic crowd welcomed minister Sarma with ‘Gamocha’, ‘Naam-Kirtan’ and flower petals.

Earlier in the day, he had attended a function at Sarusajai in Guwahati to hand over appointment letters to over 29 thousand teachers.

In this massive recruitment drive, posts of 16,484 teachers have been provincialised. The new appointments also include 13,217 Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-qualified candidates.

Total 4,260 educational institutes have been provincialised in this drive to improve the quality of education in the state.
