GUWAHATI: Eksaran Bhagawati Samaj, Assam has termed minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as the modern-day Chanakya.
The Samaj honoured Dr. Samaj with ‘Chanakya of Modern-day politics’ title at Pradesik Osto Prahar Palnam at Kaliabor on Wednesday.
“The Bhagawati Samaj has today honoured him (Sarma) with the title of ‘Chanakya of Modern-day politics’. He has been working hard to preserve the language and culture of Assam. He has also been leading the youths of the State,” the Samaj said.
The minister attended the open meeting of Pradesik Osto Prahar Palnam and foundation stone laying ceremony of Kendriya Palnam Than at Kaliabor.
Sarma was accompanied by minister Keshab Mahanta and Rajya Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa.
