HIMANTA BISWA SARMA HANDS OVER APPOINTMENT LETTERS TO 1000 STAFF NURSES, 219 ICU TECHNICIANS

Guwahati: At a programme held at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) auditorium, Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma distributed appointment letters to  1000 Staff Nurse under National Health Mission, Assam and 219 ICU technicians under Department of Health , Government of Assam. 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sarma highlighted the works and achievements done in the health sector in the last four years under the BJP-led government.

Dr. Sarma said, “During my ongoing tenure of being the Health Minister of the state I have seen people choose GMCH over any other private hospital. When I see such changes I feel that I have been able to serve my purpose and have provided GMCH with the best facilities that one could have”.  

“The second medical college in the city will be a merger of the present Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) and the Kalapahar TB Hospital. The project will presumably be the largest medical college in Eastern India, with 800 beds in MMCH and 500 beds in the Kalapahar hospital. A 12 storeyed building is to be constructed at the premises of the present MMCH, facing the Brahmaputra river,” added the minister.

Last month Dr. Sarma also distributed appointment letters to 201 staff nurses of Lakhimpur Medical College and 157 doctors for rural service.
