In another massive recruitment in the State Health department, Assam Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today (July 7) distributed appointment letters among 778 staff nurses and 280 fourth grade employees at a function held at the Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati.
Health Minister Sarma announced that the appointees will be posted in 25 model hospitals that will be come up in the State between August 15 and 30 this year.
The Assam Health Minister said that the model hospitals will be constructed as part of the government’s earlier decision to set up hospitals in all 126 assembly constituencies in the State.
Meanwhile, Himanta Biswa Sarma, who also holds the PWD portfolio, launched a pilot project on Milling & Recycling at Hem Baruah Road in Guwahati in the presence of Education Minister and East Guwahati legislator Siddhartha Bhattacharhjee and MoS (PWD) Topon Gogoi. Under the pilot project using German technology, a new technique will be employed while constructing roads using the upper part of the road, recycling it and then laying it along with the new layer.
To ensure layers of roads do not add up to their thickness there is a new technique that trims the upper part, recycles it & use it in laying the new layer. Glad to launch a pilot project on Milling & Recycling under PWRD on Hem Baruah Road with Sri @SBhttachrya & Sri Topon Gogoi pic.twitter.com/Qu89YRQh1s

The new technology, the PWD minister said, will ensure that the height of a road does not incresae due to overlaying of a newer layer.
