GUWAHATI: The youth who physically attacked a multipurpose worker (MPW) of Assam health department at Borni village in Hajo area under Kamrup district was arrested today. Hajo Police arrested miscreant Shahrukh Khan for assaulting the on-duty health worker.
Shahrukh Khan who returned from Bihar a few days ago was in home quarantine as a preventive measure against the spread of Coronavirus. When on Saturday, a multipurpose worker asked him to stay at home, the youth physically assaulted the health department employee. He also abused a nurse present at that time.
“A multipurpose worker named Mustafa Ali Ahmed went for check-up. He asked Shahrukh not to go out of the home. Then the youth assaulted the health worker. We have arrested him today,” said a police officer.
Meanwhile, accused Shahrukh Khan has been kept in isolation ward at Singimari Model Hospital.
