GUWAHATI: The Assam Police on Thursday arrested a youth for giving death threat to Assam health and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday night. The man has been identified as one Aktar Ali of Hajo. Aktar abused and threatened to kill Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma through a Facebook post.
Later, Presidents of Uttar Hajo and Hajo Mandal BJP filed an FIR at Hajo Police Station against Aktar Ali. Soon after the FIR was registered, Hajo Police launched a search operation and the accused went into hiding.
On Thursday night, Aktar Ali was arrested by Hajo Police and an investigation is underway. (UNI)
