Guwahati: In a sensational incident, a youth was found dead at a hotel under suspicious circumstances in Sijubari, Guwahati.
The youth has been identified as Dhrubajyoti Deka originally hailing from Dimu in Kamrup district but was staying in the Kalapahar locality of Guwahati.
According to reports Deka, along with two of his male friends, had booked three rooms at Hotel Raj Palace. They were subsequently joined by three girls. The group reportly had a party in the hotel bar and also spent his night in the hotel together.
However, in the morning, Dhrubajyoti was found dead in Room No. 108 of the hotel.
Police have detained the two other youths named Devraj and Biki who had accompanied Dhrubajyoti to the hotel although the identity of the three girls — now being believed to be escorts — is yet to be ascertained till the filing of this report.
According to reports, a broker had introduced the girls to the three youths and called them to the hotel although there has been no confirmation regarding this from the police.
It has also come to light that the hotel allowed people to stay at their property without specific documentation.
