Guwahati: In a road mishap a youth lost his life after his scooty was hit by an Ultra bus from behind and then a tanker rammed him on National Highway number 37, Jalukbari on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Champak Kumar, a resident of Gotanagar, Maligaon. He was a student of Barpeta polytechnic.
According to Assam Police, Champak Kumar was traveling in his scooty bearing registration number AS-01-DX-6669 towards Jalukbari at around 10:15 on Sunday morning when he was hit by an over-speeding Ultra Bus from behind. The driver of the bus immediately fled from the spot.
As Champak fell on the road, a tanker bearing registration number AS-18-C-8356 which was coming from behind rammed him.
Later on, the Jalukbari Police Station’s traffic police division seized the tanker and is currently investigating the case.
