Women safety in Guwahati again goes for a toss, after a youth alleged tried to abduct a woman on the Feb 14 from the busy GS road area.
The incident came to light after the woman filed a complaint at Dispur Police Station about her ordeal.
According to the victim, the accused youth along with his friends was a driving white colour car and tried to abduct her while she was returning from work.
However, the abduction attempt failed as people present in the area intervened and rescued her.
Enraged by the failed attempt of abduction the unruly youth drove his car at the victims friend which left him injured.
Currently, he is undergoing treatment at a city hospital.
According to reports, the accused is on the run and the city police is investigating the matter.
